Presentation and Overview of My Book "Times of the Gentiles"
In Luke chapter 21, Jesus tells us of the events leading up to his second coming. Jesus states these events will continue and increase until His return. One of these events is the punishment the Jewish nation and the foreign control of the land of Israel and the foreign control of Jerusalem. Jesus describes this event as follows;
“24They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.” Luke 21:24 NIV.
The wording in his statement implies this is a fixed time period with a start and end date.
In my presentation I will show how this period of time is prophetically tied by Daniel’s interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in Daniel chapter 4 and Jesus’ statement in Luke chapter 21.
Daniel told Nebuchadnezzar the tree represented the king and his kingdom and he would be out of his kingdom for seven years. In my presentation I will explain how the dream also applies in prophetic terms to Judah and Jerusalem which would be under the control of the gentiles for the same prophetic period, 7 years X 365.24 days = 2556.68 years (one day equals a year according to prophetic dating)). From my timeline I will show how Necho took over Judah in 608 BC making it a vassal state which continued for two thousand five hundred fifty-six years by many other gentile nations. I will show how this ended exactly 2556 years later. In AD 1948 Israel became a nation again under Jewish control (2556 – 608 = 1948.) This is just as God foretold through Daniel’s interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. This time period of 2556 years has within it the Seventy weeks of Daniel, the 390 days and 40 days Ezekiel laid on his side for Israel and Judah’s sin, the coming of the “Anointed One”, four 70 year periods, and much more. All these other events and dates are totally dependent on the 608 BC and AD 1948 connection. It’s amazing.
